Melbourne defender Judd McVee has finally made a decision on his future, requesting a trade back to Western Australia, according to AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey.
McVee has nominated Fremantle as his preferred destination, knocking back the Demons' interest in extending his contract.
The 22-year-old had been waiting to make a decision on his future until after Melbourne appointed a new senior coach, following the sacking of Simon Goodwin in August.
A fortnight ago, the Dees gave the position to Geelong assistant Steven King.

As reported by Twomey, the Dockers have picks 11, 29, 38, 47 and 65 in this year's draft, on top of the ability to part with their picks in the next two drafts as well.
Melbourne had reportedly been looking to lure Fremantle star Luke Jackson back to Melbourne, who he helped to a drought-breaking premiership in 2021, after he arrived at the Dockers at the start of 2023.
But despite Jackson supposedly been weighing up a move back to Victoria, he is poised to stay put at Freo.
McVee struggled in an injury-interrupted season, managing just 17 games after being a noticeable out for the Demons early in the year.
But he has shown lots of potential during his time at Melbourne, earning 16 coaches votes in 2024.
