Neil Erasmus could be on the move after reports emerged that the Fremantle midfielder is weighing interest from the Western Bulldogs, while yet to commit to a new deal with the Dockers.
The 21-year-old, who was taken with pick no.10 in the 2021 national draft, has been offered a three-year extension by Fremantle.
However, AFL Media’s Nathan Schmook reports that the youngster is still undecided and is keeping the door open to rival approaches.
Bulldogs eye midfield depth
Erasmus has played 38 senior games and featured in 13 of the Dockers’ last 15 matches, primarily on the wing. But Schmook added that “a prominent feature of talks with the Dockers revolves around his future on-field role”, suggesting clarity over his position is a key sticking point.

The Bulldogs’ interest comes as they look to bolster their midfield stocks, with uncertainty over Adam Treloar’s long-term place at Whitten Oval and Tom Liberatore approaching the twilight of his career at 33. Schmook also noted West Coast is among the clubs intrigued by Erasmus, who has served four seasons at Fremantle but does not qualify for free agency.
While still finding his footing at AFL level, Erasmus has shown encouraging signs across 2025 and is set to play a part in the Dockers’ finals campaign. His decision could shape not just Fremantle’s planning but also the Bulldogs’ succession strategy around their ageing midfield core.
For now, the Dockers must wait as one of their brightest prospects weighs a defining career call.
