Christian Petracca has been connected to a move away from the Melbourne Demons for the second straight off-season.
But this year he has a club of choice, with the 2021 Norm Smith Medallist turning down massive interest from Adelaide and sensationally picking the Gold Coast Suns as his preferred club, according to Tom Morris.
Petracca met with Adelaide earlier in the week before flying north to meet with Damien Hardwick and the Suns, ultimately making his decision.
However, a trade still needs to be worked out, and this is far from a done deal.

The Demons have been consistent that any trade must be "in the best interest of the Melbourne Football Club."
The club will ask for at least one player from either Gold Coast or Adelaide, as per AFL great James Hird.
"From what I understand, Melbourne wants a player, they don't just want picks," Hird told AFL Trade Radio on Tuesday.
"They want a player because they believe that they're in that window to make finals and want to get better.
"And I think that's gonna be important as part of the deal.”
Petracca is contracted to the Demons until the end of 2029.
