The AFL have installed a blockbuster start to next year's season, kicking things off with new Sydney recruit Charlie Curnow, meeting his former team, Carlton, at the SCG.
After a toxic final few months at Ikon Park, Curnow would eventually get his wish in this year's trade period, leaving the Blues and beginning a new chapter at Sydney.
The fallout from Carlton's end has been not so kind for Curnow, with plenty of Blues fans venting their frustration at how the two-time Coleman medallist handled the situation.
While Blues fans will have to wait a bit longer to celebrate (or not) Curnow's contributions to the club in Victoria, his former teammates will get the chance to see him in his new colours before anyone else. Will Michael Voss send Jacob Weitering to him?

The Swans and Blues will commence the 2026 AFL season on Thursday, March 5.
As has been the case in the previous two seasons, Sydney will join the other three New South Wales and Queensland clubs in hosting home games for Opening Round.
Following the Swans and Blues' clash, Gold Coast are expected to host Geelong, while GWS and Hawthorn will face-off in a finals rematch. The reigning premiers, Brisbane, will then host the Western Bulldogs.
However, unlike in previous years, there will be a fifth game scheduled for Opening Round, this time in Victoria.
St Kilda have been granted a blockbuster start to the 2026 season, as they are set for a home game at the MCG against Collingwood, that is expected to draw in a massive crowd. The Saints and Pies' is expected to be scheduled for Sunday night, and will be the final match of the round.
Sydney will host Carlton at the SCG on Thursday March 5 to open 2026.
