Long time Port Adelaide football boss Chris Davies has departed Alberton after 11 seasons with the club.
He has been appointed as Carlton's new football boss, a position that became vacant after the departure of Brad Lloyd in August.
There will be no downtime for Davies upon his arrival at Carlton, with three assistant coaching positions needing to be immediately filled.
Within the last week, Carlton parted ways with their head of coaching performance, Aaron Greaves, assistant backline coach Aaron Hamill, and development coach Tom Lonergan, who returned to Geelong.

Davies arrived at Port Adelaide at the end of the 2014 season under very similar circumstances.
Port Adelaide had just lost two of their own assistants, with Alan Richardson and Phil Walsh departing the club for head coaching roles with St Kilda and Adelaide.
Davies replaced both of the departed assistants, and also oversaw the appointment of Michael Voss as midfield coach in his first season at Port Adelaide.
He will now be partnered with him again at Carlton.
A former South Australian cricketer, Davies played 25 First-Class cricket matches for South Australia between the late 1990s and early 2000s.
After his cricket career, he moved into the administrative side of sport.
A highly regarded sports administrator, Davies has worked in numerous high-profile roles.
These included chief executive officer of the Woodville-West Torrens Football Club in the SANFL, along with being the SANFL General Manager of Football.
Davies then left the SANFL to accept the General Manager of Football role with Port Adelaide.
This continues a changing of the guard at Port Adelaide under incoming head coach Josh Carr.
Davies joins a long list of players, such as Jeremy Finlayson and Ryan Burton, and coaches Ken Hinkley and Chad Cornes who have departed Port Adelaide since the end of this season.
