Old rivals Carlton and Essendon look set to engage in a trade on the eve of the AFL draft, according to AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey.
The deal is also set to include North Melbourne, and will see the Blues send pick nine to Essendon, and pick 11 to the Kangaroos.
In return, Essendon are expected to send a late first and early second round pick (likely 21, 27 and 30), while the Roos would part ways with pick 25 and a future second.
The return for Carlton will see them accumulate more points, which will allow them to match a bid for father-son prospect Harry Dean, who is expected to be selected before Carlton are on the clock.
Carlton's picks No.9 and No.11 are on the move.

Essendon is the frontrunner to land No.9 using its picks late in the first & early in the second round.
North Melbourne is in line to get pick 11 using pick 25 and a future second-round pick as the key parts of the swap. @AFLcomau

Currently, Carlton possess picks 9, 11, 43 and 54, while Essendon own picks 5, 6, 21, 27, 30.
Meanwhile, the Kangaroos' earliest pick in this year's draft is pick 25, meaning a deal here would allow them to jump up the order.
