Regardless of which team salutes on Saturday, there will be Premiership players who have finally redeemed what has happened to them in the past.
Almost every AFL fan knows how hard it is for their team to make a grand final, but with 23 spots on the team, players know how much tougher it is to play in one.
Geelong are the favourites heading into the grand final, but Brisbane have been the underdogs before and will be hoping to win like last year.
The obvious one for Lions' fans is ruckman Oscar McInerney, who missed out on last year's grand final after dislocating his shoulder in the preliminary final, with the 157-gamer looking to win his first grand final this year.

McInerney was huge for Brisbane in their grand final bid last year, playing 25 games out of 27 games in 2024, only missing round 3 and the grand final, a premiership medal in 2025 would have been earned the hard way for the ruckman.
McInerney's teammate, Darcy Gardiner, is another looking to win a premiership after missing last year's through injury and being part of the 2023 grand final loss to Collingwood.
Gardiner, who has played 161 games for the Lions, will be hoping to redeem his 2023 loss and make up for last year, and it would be well deserved for the defender who has been at Brisbane through some low times for the club.
Geelong will also have an obvious one with star Max Holmes looking to seek redemption after missing the Cats' 2022 Grand Final win through a hamstring injury sustained in the preliminary final.
The 2024 best and fairest for Geelong was close to playing in the Cats' 81-point premiership win in 2022, but will be hoping to make up for that miss on Saturday and add a premiership to what will be a growing list of honours.
Cats recruit Bailey Smith is another one looking to redeem a grand final loss, with his loss coming when he played for the Western Bulldogs in 2021.
Smith was part of the Bulldogs team that lost by 74 points to Melbourne in the 2021 grand final, gathering 26 disposals, but will be hoping to join the winners' circle on Saturday.
There will be plenty of stories to come out of Saturday's grand final, with players on either side deserving of a premiership medal. It should be an enthralling match to watch.
