AFL Draft: Carlton, Essendon and North Melbourne agree to trade image

There has been a shuffle in order at the top of tonight's AFL Draft, with old rivals Carlton and Essendon officially agreeing to a deal, as well as North Melbourne.

According to AFL.com.au' s Cal Twomey, the Blues are set to send picks nine and 43 to the Bombers, while Essendon will send back 21, 27 and 30.

Separately, the Blues will also part ways with picks 11 and 54, sending them to North Melbourne in exchange for picks 25 and 46, as well as a second round pick in next year's draft.

The deal means Carlton will have five picks ranged from 21-46, helping with the necessary points to match any bid for father-son prospect Harry Dean. It's expected Dean could be one of the first names read out by CEO Andrew Dillon.

Meanwhile, despite rejecting Hawthorn's best efforts to land Zach Merrett, Essendon will still be loaded with three top-10 picks in this year's draft (before academy selections), currently slated to be on the clock at picks five, six and nine, following their deal with Carlton.
