Melbourne has added more experience to their coaching panel, with two of the three additions having a Geelong connection, whilst adding a recently retired player.
Jared Rivers, Matthew Scarlett and Rory Atkins have been hired to help the newly hired Demons coach Steven King next year.
Rivers returns to the Demons, a club where he played 150 games before moving to Geelong, where he played 44 games.
The former Demon has coached previously at Geelong and left St Kilda to join as King's assistant coach, looking after the backline and team defence.

Scarlett played with King for 10 years when they were both playing with Geelong from 1998 to 2007, and were premiership teammates in the 2007 premiership.
Scarlett is seen as one of the best backmen of all time, winning three premierships and six All-Australian blazers in his 284 games at the Cats and will join the Demons part-time as a specialist coach.
Rory Atkins also joins the club as a development coach after recently retiring from his 141-game AFL career across Adelaide, Gold Coast and Port Adelaide.
Melbourne has said the trio will join Troy Chapelin (forward) and Nathan Jones (midfield) on the coaching panel with Max Viney, the son of Melbourne legend Todd and brother of current Dees midfielder Jack, returning as 'combat and grappling coach'.
The Demons have had a troubled year as they finished in 14th position and missed finals, sacked coach Simon Goodwin and will see stars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver traded.
They have still made some positive off-season moves, signing Steven King as coach and trading in Max Heath and Brody Mihocek in the first half of the trade period.
