Jake Stringer, otherwise known as "the package," was delisted by Greater Western Sydney this afternoon, in a move that comes as the Giants set their eyes on the 2025 Telstra AFL Draft.

But fear not, as Stringer is set to be redrafted in the upcoming draft period.

Conor Stone, who is a former No. 15 pick in the 2020 National Draft, will also follow the same path as Stringer after being cut today with the goal of being redrafted.

"The package" has well and truly become a household name throughout Australia, since his days at the Western Bulldogs where he played 89 games and was part of their 2016 premiership team.

He then moved to Essendon, adding another 123 games to his resume.

Despite turning 31-years-old this season, Stringer had an exceptional season for the Giants.

After a slow start, kicking only three goals in his first three games, Stringer ended the season with 25 goals and 24 behinds to his name from only 15 games, his second-best goal-to-game return in the past four seasons.

According to GWS’ head of talent, Adrian Caruso, there was no debate over the redrafting of Stringer and Stone, with both fully understanding the move.

"This is a common process we need to follow most seasons to prepare appropriately for the national draft," Caruso said in today's Giants press release.

"Both Conor and Jake fully understand and support the move, and they’re aware of our ongoing commitment to them as players."
