David King labels “ridiculously good” midfield duo as the best in the competition image

After an incredible Elimination Final victory over Fremantle, David King wasted no words when applauding the efforts of Gold Coast’s midfield duo of Matt Rowell and Noah Anderson.

The midfield tandem combined for 66 disposals on Saturday night and ultimately proved to be the winning difference.

According to King, that performance has now put them as the best midfield duo in the competition.

“This one two punch in the midfield, they are just ridiculously good aren’t they,” King said on SEN's Fireball.

“Are they the best one-two (in the competition?),” Kane Cornes asked.

“Oh, absolute, I mean who’s next?” King replied.

Anderson was the recipient of the AFL Coaches Association's Champion Player of the Year award this season, with Rowell finishing only six votes behind his teammate in third place.

They were the only two teammates within the top ten.

King reiterated that with those two stars in the midfield, and the belief that the Suns currently have, they can challenge the reigning premiers this Saturday night.

“I love their motto, I love their mindset - all gas, no brakes - we are going to challenge you,” King said.

"Of course they can really put it to the Brisbane Lions,”

“With no Lachie Neale in the midfield, there is some vulnerability in the midfield, and there is a template there now for Damien Hardwick (to beat Brisbane). ”

It was confirmed by Brisbane in a statement on Saturday that Lachie Neale would miss the next four to six weeks and his finals campaign was over.

Neale was recalled to their side for their Qualifying Final after battling a quad injury for the best part of a month.

But in the dying minutes of Friday night's loss to Geelong, Neale suffered a confirmed tear in his right calf.
