Cam Guthrie's outstanding 15-year run at Geelong has come to an end, with the club opting not to offer him a contract for 2026.
Guthrie was a model of professionalism during his time with the Cats, becoming an All-Australian and winning two club best and fairests, one of them in their premiership year of 2022.
Between 2013 and 2022, the midfielder played at least 20 games in all but one season.
Injuries took a toll in recent years, however, with a mix of Achilles, calf and foot complaints limiting him to 10 games across 2023-24 and none this past season, with his career tally sitting at 240.

But he was a critical member of Geelong's long period of success and the club paid tribute to Guthrie in a statement.
“Cam has been an outstanding and dedicated servant of the Geelong Football Club, both on and off the field,” Geelong football general manager Andrew Mackie said.
“He has been ultra-consistent and had the special ability to elevate his game in key moments and times of success, particularly throughout our 2022 premiership campaign.
“Cam will always be a great Geelong person, with his influence extending well beyond what he achieved on the field.”
Guthrie, who turned 33 in August, is being backed to consider continuing his career elsewhere.
Josh Jenkins, who played with the Crows and Cats in his career, tweeted the veteran could be the perfect option for an up and coming club.
"Remarkable professional, Cam Guthrie," Jenkins wrote on X.
"As diligent as they come. A silent assassin in the way he goes about his business.
"An emerging club could do worse than take a look."
