Dockers coach Justin Longmuir has confirmed Sam Switkowski will miss Saturday night's elimination final against the Suns, with the small forward failing to overcome a knee injury in time to play.
Switkowski suffered the injury in the final quarter of their round 24 win against the Bulldogs, after copping a knee knock with the Bulldogs' Arthur Jones.
The 28-year-old was forced to leave the ground with just over five minutes remaining in the contest, with the club initially hopeful the pressure forward would return in time for finals.
Speaking to reporters this morning, Longmuir revealed Switkowski would not be named against the Suns.

"He (Switkowski) is not going to play this week," Longmuir said.
"We had hopes earlier in the week that he'd get up.
"But the knee injury that he sustained late in the game against the Dogs will hold him out this week unfortunately."
Switkowski's absence means the Dockers will need to make at least two changes for Saturday night's elimination final, with Corey Wagner also ruled out after suffering a pectorial injury against the Dogs.
But Longmuir is confident they have the depth to cover the injured duo.
"Duds (Isaiah Dudley) will come into the mix," he said.
"Johnno (Matthew Johnson) when he's been fit has been in our best side all year.
"(Nathan) O'Driscoll went back and played a really solid game after being left out of the team.
"(Jeremy) Sharp has worked on some aspects of his game, so we've got some options to come in and cover for those guys."
