Maybe the silliness of trade season has gone too far. In the past week, multiple clubs have contacted Nick Daicos and his management to see if the Collingwood superstar has any interest in a trade, according to AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey.
The 22-year-old is contracted until the end of 2029, and there is nothing to suggest he is even remotely pushing for an exit, or that Collingwood would entertain such a move, only that clubs have reached out to him.
Superstars of the game such as Marcus Bontempelli (before he re-signed at the Western Bulldogs), Zach Merrett and Zak Butters have been embroiled in player movement rumours at some point this year, and it appears not even Nick Daicos is immune to speculation.
"Over the past week, my understanding is multiple clubs have reached out both directly to Nick Daicos and to his management about any interest he would have about a move," Twomey told Gettable.

"He has not been driving this. Clubs have reached out including directly to the player to gauge his interest.
"He of course is signed until the end of 2029. So I am not saying Collingwood would in anyway entertain this. I'm not saying that he's pushing for a trade. I'm not saying that he's going to be traded.
"But to have clubs reach out to him and to his management shows the world we are now in whereby nothing and nobody is off limits, and a competition view that anything can be prized open."

It remains unclear which clubs have contacted Daicos, but what you would imagine is almost certain is that Collingwood wouldn't even pick up the phone to discuss the idea.
With Tasmania set to enter the competition over the next few years, it's long been thought that the Devils could look to entice Daicos to the Apple Isle - reminiscent of Gary Ablett joining the Gold Coast Suns - with their $5 million signing bonus fund.
The current favourite to be the Devils first senior coach also happens to be Collingwood great Nathan Buckley, which could entice Daicos.
Until then, expect the three-time All-Australian to be running around in the black and white stripes a little longer.
