At long last, the Mercury's Kahleah Copper is expected to make her season debut this week. Copper has been missing in action since undergoing knee surgery in May.
The team has played most of the season so far without Copper or Alyssa Thomas on the floor. Both are key parts of the team's new positionless style of basketball, and their absences have been profoundly felt. Thomas was back on the floor for the team's match against the Wings this week (and hit an 11-point, 10-assist double-double in under 25 minutes of play).
Copper is expected to play in the Mercury's game against the Aces, which could prove to be a powerful performance for Phoenix. The Aces will likely still be playing without A'ja Wilson, who is out due to concussion protocol after a head injury.
