As Paige Bueckers' rookie year winds down, the point guard phenom is leaving little doubt that she is the face of the Wings' rebuild as Dallas continues to stack assets for the future.
Dallas has three first-round picks in the next two WNBA drafts, which general manager Curt Miller plans to use to augment the young talent base developing around Bueckers and Arike Ogunbowale.
Despite a 9-30 record in 2025, the Wings' future remains bright, as Bueckers has taken little time to adapt to the demands of The W.

It was just over a week ago when Bueckers tied a WNBA rookie record by scoring 44 points in a road loss to the Los Angeles Sparks. Though she has scored 20 points on 19 shots in the Wings' past two games, Bueckers enters Friday night's game against the Atlanta Dream on the precipice of another rookie mark.
If Bueckers scores 10 points in Atlanta, she will become one of nine rookies all-time to score at least 600 points in their debut season. In addition, Bueckers is only 41 points from breaking the Wings' franchise record for points by a rookie; that figure belongs to Ogunbowale, who scored 630 points for the Wings in 2019.
A strong end to the season also could see Bueckers (19.0 points per game) become one of four rookies all-time to average at least 20 points a night. She would need to average 26 points over the Wings' final five games to become the first rookie in seven years to accomplish the feat.
