With just a handful of matchups left in the regular season, a classic rivalry is set for this Friday between the Fever and Sky.

While the Fever have plenty riding on the game, the two marquee attractions from recent years will miss out. The Fever announced Thursday that Caitlin Clark will miss the rest of the season due to a groin injury and bone bruise that have kept her sidelined since mid-July.

On the other side, Sky star Angel Reese will sit out Friday after incurring her eighth technical foul of the season Wednesday against the Sun, triggering an automatic one-game suspension

The Fever's playoff hopes are hanging on by a thread as they hold down the final postseason spot by a game and a half over the Sparks. Meanwhile, Chicago sits at the bottom of the Eastern Conference and has officially been eliminated from playoff contention. The Sky fell behind early this season and have since only won a handful of regular-season matchups.

Will the Fever be able to help their playoff campaign with a win?
