Angel Reese has been in a bit of a rough patch regarding her play on the basketball court.
But the WNBA's rising star second-year forward moved back into a good place on Tuesday night when she broke an impressive league record.
Reese has now accumulated more than 500 points and 500 rebounds in her WNBA career. It took her 38 games to reach 500-500. That's the fastest any player has ever gotten to those combined marks in the league's history, passing Tina Charles.
To get there, Reese finished with 13 points, 15 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks for the Sky on Tuesday night against the Mercury.
The bad news: Reese shot 3-for-9 from the floor, and Phoenix won the game.
Reese remains the most prolific rebounder in WNBA history through this early stage of her career.
Against the Mercury, 10 of the rebounds were defensive and five were offensive.
The Sky are now 0-4 this season as they seek an escape from the rut they find themselves in. The public's noted Reese rival, Caitlin Clark, is out for a couple weeks with an injury, and this could be a chance for Reese and the Sky to make up ground in the standings.
Regardless, Reese continues to figure things out on the court, and now she's got another spot with her name in the WNBA history books.
