Sky's Angel Reese gets unexpected injury update image

The Chicago Sky are having a rough start to the 2025 WNBA season.

As of July 9, the Sky are 5-13 on the year and second-to-last in the Eastern Conference.

On Tuesday, Angel Reese broke out again with 22 points and 15 rebounds. But, things took an unfortunate turn on Wednesday as she landed on the injury report.

"Chicago Sky Status Report Angel Reese (leg) is questionable Kamilla Cardoso is set to active," Karli Bell of Courtside KB wrote

It's a bit of a surprise given the fact that Reese played well on Tuesday night in the two-point loss to the Washington Mystics.

Plus, Wednesday's showdown against the Dallas Wings had a lot of buzz due to Paige Bueckers as well.

On the year, Reese is averaging 13.2 points with 12.9 rebounds as she has been an important part of Chicago's team in the early stages of her WNBA career.

After Wednesday, the Sky have back-to-back games at home against the Minnesota Lynx on Saturday and Monday before finishing a three-game homestand on July 16 against the Atlanta Dream.

Still, Reese's status will be one to monitor for the Wings showdown, especially after a huge performance one day prior.
