The Fever continue to win without Caitlin Clark and remain dominant over the Sky.

Indiana bested Chicago 93-78 on Sunday at the United Center, improving to 3-0 over their rival this season. Kelsey Mitchell was the catalyst for the Fever, scoring a season-high 35 points in 30 minutes. Aliyah Boston also stuffed the stat sheet with 14 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists, giving Indiana the perfect inside-outside combination that the home team had no answer for defensively.

The Fever won their third straight game without Clark in the lineup as she deals with a groin injury. The superstar guard has been sidelined since before the All-Star break, and her status remains up in the air going forward. Indiana's veterans and rookies like Makayla Timpson, who had 14 points off the bench on Sunday, continue to step up in her absence.

As for Chicago, the team has struggled mightily as of late despite strong seasons from Ariel Atkins (13.9 points per game) and Angel Reese (13.8 points and 12.5 rebounds per game). Both players missed Sunday's marquee matchup (Atkins with a leg injury and Reese with a back injury). The Sky dropped to 7-18 on the year with the loss.

5:02 p.m. — The Fever are going to hold on for their 14th win of the year. Big performances by Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston prove to be too much for the Sky.

4:52 p.m. —Mitchell answers a three from Allen with one of her own, her seventh of the day to give Indiana an 87-78 lead.

4:47 p.m. — Sophie Cunningham hits a three, her first of the day. Indiana's lead is back to 14 points.

4:43 p.m. — Banham hits a midrange jumper on the run. She has 26 points and is trying to will the Sky to a comeback in this one.

End of third quarter: Fever 75, Sky 61

4:37 p.m. — Lexie Hull beats the buzzer to give Indiana a 14-point lead heading to the fourth.

4:36 p.m. — Mitchell sinks two free throws and now has 30 points on the afternoon.

4:27 p.m. — Makayla Timpson comes up with a steal and takes it the other way for an easy bucket, capping a 9-0 Fever run.

4:22 p.m. — A long two from Kia Nurse cuts the Indiana lead to two, but Kelsey Mitchell responds with a three at the other end.

4:20 p.m. — The Sky have started fast in the third quarter, with Rebecca Allen trying to be the catalyst in the second half.

3:43 p.m. — Indiana's Chloe Bibby signed a 7-day contract on Friday. She's 2-2 from three coming off the bench today.

3:41 p.m. — Rachel Banham is having a solid game for the Sky. She's 2-5 from downtown to keep Chicago in the contest.

3:31 p.m. — Cardoso is establishing herself more in the paint in the second quarter. The center has eight points and five boards in the game. Another bucket forces a Fever timeout. 

End of first quarter: Fever 26, Sky 13

3:21 p.m. — The Fever absolutely blitz the Sky in the first quarter, ending on an 18-2 run. Chicago had nine turnovers in the period.

3:17 p.m. — Mitchell hits another deep three, and she's up to 11 points in the first quarter. Indiana is on a 9-0 run.

3:08 p.m. — Mitchell is heating up early, dishing out a nice assist and then making her second three of the game. She'll need to do more of that with Clark out of the lineup.

3:04 p.m. — Cardoso makes a turnaround jumper in the paint for the first bucket, and we are underway from the United Center.

Is Angel Reese playing today?

Reese has officially been ruled out for Sunday's game. She missed the Sky's matchup with the Storm on Thursday with a back injury.

Reese was a non-contact practice participant on Saturday. Sky coach Tyler Marsh told reporters the forward is still considered day-to-day, saying: "We don't want to push her too much with a back injury, but she's progressing."

Is Caitlin Clark playing today?

Clark has officially been ruled out for Sunday's game. She has not played since July 15 due to a groin ailment.

Clark was ruled out for Thursday's game against the Aces, with The Next Hoops' Tony East reporting that she is still working with the team on her "recovery and rehab" and the Fever's priority is "her long-term health."
