Jordan Thomas blocked a punt with 90 seconds remaining, and Amar'e Newell scored a touchdown. The team converted on the ensuing two-point conversion to take a 22-21 lead, which it held for the victory.
The Crusaders will now take on West Boca Raton, which is also 1-0. The Bulls dominated Palm Beach Central in the opening matchup 50-7. They'll remain at home as Bergen Catholic travels from New Jersey to Florida for this game.
This will be the first matchup between these teams in the schools' histories.
