The top high school team in Michigan will open its season with a cross-border clash.

Detroit Cass Tech, ranked No. 22 nationally this week by MaxPreps, will face Central Catholic of Toledo on Friday as it begins its quest for a repeat after securing its first state title in eight years last fall.

Quarterback Donald Tabron II will have the reins from the beginning this year for the Technicians. He threw for 17 touchdowns as a freshman last fall and will have plenty of returning skill position support in top target Corey Sadler Jr. (828 yards, nine TDs) and leading rushers De'mari Hendrix (739 yards, seven TDs) and Julian Taylor (544 yards, 10 TDs).

The Fighting Irish already have a game under their belt, falling 17-14 to Walsh Jesuit last week as their 26-game home winning streak came to an end. Running back Jeremiah Fuller was a bright spot in defeat, rushing for 118 yards with a touchdown and two-point conversion, but it wasn't enough. Now Central Catholic will try to get back on track in Detroit.

Who will prevail Friday night? Here's how to watch all the action.
