Legend Bey, North Forney

Bey, a senior quarterback and Ohio State commit, had - appropriately enough - a legendary performance in his final regular season game. He passed for 203 yards and a TD while adding 270 yards rushing on 14 carries and another score in the Falcons’ 63-39 win against Rockwall.

Jayden Bibbs, Arlington Bowie

Another senior quarterback from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Bibbs completed 29-of-38 passes for 252 yards and three TDs while adding 63 yards rushing as the Volunteers edged South Grand Prairie, 24-21.

Brock Burkett, Keller

The quarterback helped lead the Indians to a come-from-behind 48-45 win against Northwest Eaton which enabled Keller to clinch a playoff berth. Burkett, a senior who is committed to play baseball at Weatherford College, threw for 169 yards and three TDs and also rushed for 119 yards.

Yariel Cabrera, Harlingen South

Cabrera, a senior defensive back, picked off two passes as part of a Hawks’ defense that put the clamps down on Weslaco East in a 24-14 win. That victory enabled Harlingen South to advance into the postseason. Cabrera also had 12 total tackles, including two tackles for loss.

Khylan Davis, Fort Bend Hightower

Davis, a junior quarterback, threw for 245 yards on 14-of-22 passing and two TDs and added 124 yards rushing on 12 carries with three TDs in the Hurricanes’ 60-14 win against Fort Bend Elkins.

Gwinn, a senior quarterback, threw for 213 yards and two TDs and added 109 yards rushing on 16 carries as the Indians finished the regular season 9-1 with a district title after a 24-7 win against Sweetwater.

Johnny Hebert, Houston Strake Jesuit

One of the state’s premier running backs, the University of Houston commit had another stellar outing in the Crusaders’ 38-22 win against Foster. Hebert rushed for 391 yards on 28 carries with four TDs, and now has more than 7,000 yards in his career.

Cayden Humphrey, Pottsboro

Humphrey, a junior quarterback, completed 7-of-14 passes for 128 yards and added 151 yards rushing on 21 carries with four TDs while on defense, he had 10 total tackles and a tackle for loss as the Cardinals wrapped up the district championship with a 32-24 win against Whitesboro.

Julius Laine, Abilene Wylie

In his final high school game, Laine - a senior tailback - rushed for a career-high 300 yards and scored five TDs as the Bulldogs outlasted Plainview, 70-52. Three of Laine’s scores covered at least 35 yards, and he also had an additional 50 yards of receiving.

Alexander Manning, Corpus Christi London

Manning, a senior signal-caller, threw for 284 yards and four TDs and added 171 yards on 13 carries with another TD as the Pirates held off Orange Grove, 38-35.

Kobe Miles, Houston Heights

Miles’ nickname is “Money,” and the junior quarterback was just that in the Bulldogs’ regular-season finale against Westside. He completed 11-of-19 passes for 280 yards and all but four of those completions resulted in TDs - which comes up to seven. On the “Money,” indeed.

Julian Reese II, Amarillo Palo Duro

A junior quarterback, Reese completed 14-of-18 passes for 283 yards and five TDs and also added a rushing TD as the Dons finished the regular season 9-1 after a 52-28 win against Abilene Cooper.

Austin Sluder, Amarillo

Sluder, a senior, caught eight passes for 188 yards and scored five TDs in the Sandies’ 63-21 win against crosstown foe Tascosa. That win also helped set up a postgame three-team coin flip, a la “Friday Night Lights,” to determine which team would advance to the playoffs. Amarillo won that coin toss.

Lane Vargas, Colleyville Heritage

Just a freshman who was making his first start at quarterback, Vargas completed 19-of-25 passes for 358 yards with six TDs as the Panthers rolled past Grapevine, 58-25.

Kameron Wrightner, Texarkana Texas High

A senior quarterback, Wrightner completed 22-of-25 passes for 239 yards and five TDs as the Tigers wrapped up the 5A-II Region II District 7 championship with a 50-0 win against Nacogdoches.
