Here are the candidates for The Sporting News Idaho high school football player of the week for Week Six (Sep. 26-27). Vote as many times as you'd like until 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, and the results will be announced in the following days.
Javid Blewett, RB, Homedale: The do-it-all standout had one of the most remarkable first quarters in Idaho high school football history, rushing for two touchdowns, grabbing an interception, and blocking a punt that he returned for a touchdown in the opening 12 minutes of Homedale's 48-0 rout of Payette.
Jack Brant, QB, Timberline: The senior signal-caller accounted for six total touchdowns, throwing for 356 yards and four scores while adding two more on the ground as No. 7 Timberline rolled past No. 23 Capital 50-19 to improve to 5-0.
Noah Burnham, RB, Eagle: The 6A classification's rushing leader broke open a defensive struggle with two clutch fourth-quarter touchdowns, finishing with 101 rushing yards and 67 receiving yards to lead No. 4 Eagle past No. 18 Mountain View 21-14. Burnham has now surpassed 650 rushing yards on the season.
Zak Grigg, QB, American Falls: The dual-threat quarterback accounted for all five Beavers touchdowns, including explosive rushing scores of 40 and 98 yards, in a 34-6 victory over South Fremont.
Kartez Hernandez, RB, Nampa: The workhorse back carried 27 times for 210 yards and three touchdowns to power Nampa to a 50-28 victory over Skyline.
Maddox Kirkland, QB, Kendrick: The senior threw for 215 yards and four touchdowns while adding a rushing score as No. 8 Kendrick dominated Lapwai 90-0 to remain unbeaten at 5-0.
Hudson Lewis, WR, Timberline: The explosive receiver turned just seven offensive touches into 221 total yards and four touchdowns in Timberline's 50-19 victory over Capital.
Zachary Permann, RB, Rockland: The powerful back bulldozed his way to 219 yards and two touchdowns on the ground in Rockland's 68-8 rout of Watersprings.
Drake Sage, RB, West Side: The senior racked up 203 rushing yards and two touchdowns to lead No. 21 West Side past Declo 20-8.
Caden Symons, QB, Coeur d'Alene: The dual-threat standout completed 11 of 13 passes for 355 yards and three touchdowns while also hauling in a touchdown reception as No. 24 Coeur d'Alene demolished No. 15 Sandpoint 50-9, extending the Vikings' winning streak to three games and their dominance over the Bulldogs to nine straight victories.
