The 55th running of the World 100 at Eldora returns this weekend, and racing fans have been planning their watch parties all week. The three-day event for DIRTcar Super Late Models takes place in Rossburg, Ohio, featuring the best Dirt Late Model drivers in the world at one of the oldest and most prestigious races.

The events kick off with twin 25-lap, $12,000 preliminary features Thursday and Friday. That leads to heat races and consolations Saturday, followed by the 100-lap main event that boasts an event-record $72,000 grand prize. The total purse for the entire weekend exceeds $600,000.

Bobby Pierce of Oakwood, Illinois, serves as the reigning champion, as he eked by Dale McDowell for his second career World 100 victory and first since 2016. Pierce also won last season's $100,000 Dirt Track World Championship at Eldora, so it's safe to say he likes this half-mile dirt oval in Ohio.

Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Georgia enters with 11 Eldora crown jewels, including five World 100 victories (2015, '17, '19, '21 and '22). One more World 100 win and he will tie Billy Moyer for most ever.
