The top United States footballer, Christian Pulisic, currently plies his trade for AC Milan.

Milan has a massive clash Tuesday, as well, taking on Atalanta.

One problem, though: Pulisic isn't on the pitch.

The talented American isn't even on the substitute list.

Why isn't Christian Pulisic playing today?

Pulisic is missing out on the clash with Atalanta due to injury.

He has been out since Oct. 14, when he injured his right hamstring while playing for the United States in a friendly against Australia.

It's considered a low-grade strain, according to World Soccer Talk, but could take a few weeks from the point of injury to recover.

“Given the importance of both him and (Ardon Jashari, we will not rush either back,” manager Massimiliano Allegri told the media. “It will take time to reintegrate them and, above all, for them to regain full fitness.”

Pulisic has six goals and two assists in eight matches in Serie A so far this season. Milan will certainly want that talent and production back soon.

Milan entered Tuesday a point back of Napoli and Roma at the top of the table. They'll try to keep pace while Pulisic tries to work his way back onto the pitch.
