Barcelona will be looking to shake off their midweek European setback as they return to domestic action with a tricky La Liga trip to Sevilla’s Estadio Ramón on Sunday afternoon.

The Andalusian outfit endured a rocky start to the campaign, suffering consecutive defeats to Athletic Bilbao and Getafe. However, Matías Almeyda’s men have since steadied the ship, winning three of their last five league outings and losing just once in that stretch.

Recent victories over Girona, Alavés, and Rayo Vallecano have propelled them up the standings. Their most recent triumph came against Rayo, where Akor Adams delivered the decisive blow late in the game to secure a 1-0 win.

The Catalan giants faced a stern test on Wednesday night, falling 2-1 at home to a depleted Paris Saint-Germain side. The reigning European champions produced a resilient performance to hand Hansi Flick’s men a rare defeat on the continental stage.

Domestically, though, Barcelona remain in fine form. With 19 points from their opening seven league fixtures, they sit at the summit of La Liga, narrowly ahead of arch-rivals Real Madrid. Last weekend, they edged past Real Sociedad 2-1 to maintain their perfect home record, with their only blemish so far coming in a draw away at Rayo Vallecano before the September international break.

The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this game, including how to watch the match, kickoff times and the latest lineup news.
