Last season, former Manchester United star Antony was able to regain his footing while on loan at Real Betis to the tune of nine goals and five assists across all competitions. After that loan spell ended, Antony learned that he was still not in the plans for manager Ruben Amorim in Manchester, so the Brazilian forward hoped that a permanent deal would materialize at Betis.
It took a bit of negotiating between the two parties, but eventually an agreement was reached to send Antony back to Spain and to Real Betis for a transfer fee of €22 million with the possibility of an extra three million in add-ons.

During his time at Betis, Antony was a revitalizing force that helped push the club to the Conference League finals for the 2024-25 season. Though the club eventually suffered a 4-1 loss in the finals to Chelsea, the season had more than a few bright spots that were partially inspired by the emergence of Antony on the wing.
How will Antony's return impact Real Betis?
According to Capology, Antony is on a wage structure of over €100,000 per week. So, Antony will not necessarily arrive at Betis as a cost-effective option, he can help contribute goals that will push the squad into the European competition places of the La Liga table. As it stands right now, Real Betis sits in eighth position after three matches with one win and two draws in the 2025-26 campaign.

At this point in his career, Antony is still 25 years old, so it is more than reasonable to assert that the Brazilian can be an energetic option on the wings for Real Betis this season after showcasing himself well on loan already.
