PSG star set for La Liga move as clubs finalize deal image

PSG's summer exodus is gathering pace and with less than a week before the transfer window closes, another high-profile name is preparing to walk away from the Parc des Princes.

Carlos Soler is on the verge of sealing a move to Real Sociedad after two unsettled seasons in Paris and a mixed loan spell at West Ham United.

The former Valencia star featured 33 times for the Hammers in 2024-25 but struggled to cement himself in David Moyes’ plans.

PSG had brought him from Valencia in 2022 where he had risen through the academy and he went onto make 63 appearances for the French champions.

The 28-year-old has not been able to secure a place in Luis Enrique’s plans, and with the former Barcelona coach reducing the size of his squad, the Spaniard is now expected to join the departures Milan Skriniar, Nordi Mukiele, Renato Sanches and goalkeeper Arnau Tenas.

PSG and Real Sociedad finalize the deal

According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG accepted Sociedad’s final proposal on Wednesday [August 27] after a verbal agreement had already been reached.

The deal takes the form of an initial loan with a buy option clause, while Sociedad will cover the bulk of Soler’s wages until 2026.

The Basque reportedly side see strong chances of making the move permanent, given their need for depth in midfield and Soler’s La Liga experience.

Athletic reported that Soler is scheduled to undergo his medical in San Sebastián on Thursday [August 28].

If paperwork is completed before the deadline, he will become the latest piece in Sociedad’s push to balance domestic ambitions with European competition.
