Achraf Hakimi has been named as the best African player in France this season.
The Morocco international, who joined Paris Saint-Germain back in 2021 was awarded the 2024/25 Marc-Vivien Foe award, after a fabulous campaign with PSG.
Hakimi has been vital in the Parisians successful season, which has seen the club extend its record of Ligue 1 titles to an unprecedented 13th trophy, alongside their second final appearance in the UEFA Champions League.
The 26-year-old edged out Ivorian forward Evann Guessand (Nice) and Senegalese midfielder Habib Diarra (Strasbourg) to win the award, which is named after late Cameroon star Foe, who collapsed and died on the pitch while playing for his national team in a friendly match in Lyon in 2003.
This makes Hakimi only the second defender to win the accolade, after Chancel Mbemba in 2023, and the fourth Moroccan, alongside Marouane Chamakh (2009), Younès Belhanda (2012) and Sofiane Boufal (2016).
Speaking after receiving the trophy, Hakimi said, "It’s a source of pride for me to join the circle of great players who have won the award. It’s fitting recompense for the season I’m having and for the season PSG are having too.”

Achraf Hakimi's season in numbers
Hakimi’s 2024/25 campaign has been elite. In 16 Champions League games, he's clocked up 1,452 minutes played, with three goals, five assists and an average of 2.2 tackles, 1.8 dribbles and a 7.34 match rating.
In Ligue 1, he's featured in 24 games (1 sub), scored four and assisted six goals.
He also starred in both UCL semifinal games against Arsenal, netting in PSG’s 2-1 second leg win, to put them just two wins away from a historic quadruple.
