Manchester United's decision to pursue and bring in former Ajax head coach Erik ten Hag appears to signal a change in mentality at Old Trafford.

On the back of another trophy-less season on the red half of Manchester, fans have protested and players have underperformed, with the club drifting away from their main rivals.

Ten Hag's arrival is a statement of intent, but the Dutch boss faces some tough early calls over his new squad, before looking to strengthen his options.

Six players have already been released with Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong and Brazilian international Antony rumoured to be on Ten Hag's wanted list.

Confirmed transfers in

With Ten Hag still assessing the picture in his squad, United are yet to confirm any new incoming transfers, but movement is expected in the coming weeks.

Confirmed transfers out

Before Ten Hag arrived, decisions had already been reached on the futures of certain players, and the new man in charge appears happy with the removal of out-of-contract stars.

In a bold move by United, six first team players have been released at the end of their contracts, with a sizeable chunk of funds saved in wages.

Paul Pogba is the most eye-catching name on the departures list with the Frenchman slamming United over their move not to offer him a new contract.

New contracts

United have not confirmed renewal talks with any current first team players after Bruno Fernandes extended his contract until 2026 in April.

However, there are a string of players heading into the final year of their United contracts, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford, David de Gea and Luke Shaw, with the club expected to make a decision on their futures soon.
