Inter Milan are one of Europe's most storied clubs, with numerous European records, world-class moments, and historic accomplishments.

As they are set to contest the 2024/25 Champions League final against PSG on Saturday, Inter hope to write their name in the European history books as the latest continental champions.

In that match, they will hope to lean in part on the club's glittering history, drawing from legends of the past including Alessandro Mazzola, Jair, Armando Picchi, and Diego Milito.

The Sporting News dives further into that history, which the Italian giants will hope to rewrite this weekend with another European triumph.

Have Inter Milan won the Champions League?

As one of the biggest clubs in Italy, yes, Inter Milan have won three Champions League titles.

They won their first two European crowns in back-to-back fashion in 1963/64 and 1964/65. They beat Real Madrid in Vienna to secure their first title, while topping Eusebio and Benfica the following year at their home ground, as the team was famously dubbed "La Grande Inter."

Their 1965 championship made Inter Milan one of only four clubs in history to play a European final at their home ground, and one of only two to win it, alongside Real Madrid in 1957.

Inter would have to wait over 40 years for their third European title, as they won the 2009/10 Champions League as part of a famous treble. Jose Mourinho would lead Inter to a 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich in the final, tacking a UCL title onto their fifth straight Scudetto and a Coppa Italia title, becoming the first and only Italian club to complete such a treble.

Inter Milan history, record in European competition

Inter Milan have six European trophies in their club's history, evenly split between the European Cup/Champions League and the UEFA Cup/Europa League.

All three of Inter's Europa League titles came in the 1990s, winning in 1991, 1994, and 1998. In two of those finals, they beat fellow Italian clubs, downing Roma 2-1 in 91 while topping Lazio 3-0 in 98.

They have also lost three European finals, all in the Champions League, including their most recent appearance in 2023 against Manchester City. They also suffered defeat in 1967, falling 2-1 to Celtic, and in 1972 when they were beaten 2-0 by Ajax.
