Chelsea continue to be linked, along with Paris Saint Germain, for the signature of Manuel Ugarte as negotiations continue for the midfielder.

New Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino reportedly wants Ugarte to join Enzo Fernandez at the London club, but David Datro Fofana is not part of the discussions between Chelsea and Sporting at the moment.

The 22-year-old is also wanted by other clubs, but Chelsea and PSG are certainly the favourites to sign the Uruguay international.

The Sporting News provides a rundown of the latest Chelsea transfer news ahead of the summer transfer window.

Chelsea battle PSG for Manuel Ugarte

Despite Chelsea's strong interest in Ugarte, the only potential breakdown could come from the transfer fee. Sporting want the midfielder's release clause, which is said to be £51.8m ($64.3m), but the Blues would prefer to pay in installments.

Dusan Vlahovic could be the Blues' striker solution

Italian journalist Rudy Galetti told GIVEMESPORT that Chelsea could make a move for Dusan Vlahovic in the summer to solve their goal-scoring problem. They only scored 38 goals in their 2022/23 Premier League campaign, averaging one goal per game.

Galetti said: "The Blues could make a concrete move for the Serbian, especially because the next manager, Pochettino, considers Dusan the ideal striker for his tactical idea. The player likes the destination and reaching an agreement on personal terms wouldn't be a problem."

Levi Colwill's future hangs in the balance

English defender Levi Colwill will be uncertain of which club he will represent in the 2023/24 season as both Chelsea and Brighton want the player, according to a report from Todofichajes.

The Seagulls want to extend his loan spell and are considering a permanent transfer while Chelsea want to keep him, but the final decision is down to Pochettino.

Chelsea transfer rumours and reports

With midfielders Mason Mount and Ruben Loftus-Cheek potentially on their way out, Pochettino will want to make sure he recruits the right people in the heart of the Chelsea side.

The Blues' goalkeeping department has also been quite lackluster over the past season, with both Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga playing poorly. Chelsea have been linked with Inter and Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana.
