Bayern have been on the hunt for a goal scoring centre-forward for the last 12 months following Robert Lewandowski's move to Barcelona in 2023.
Lewandowski's incredible goal record at Bayern broke new ground as the Poland international smashed the iconic Gerd Muller's one-season Bundesliga goal record in 2020/21.
Muller netted 40 Bundesliga goals for Bayern Munich back in 1971/72, but Lewandowski went one better with 41 in his penultimate season in Bavaria, and scored 35 league goals in 2021/22, before moving on.
