Manchester United are in an extremely tight spot with uncertainty around Ruben Amorim's future at Old Trafford with every passing fixture.

The Red Devils gave false hopes to their fans with the win over Chelsea as they followed it up with a 3-1 defeat against Brentford in the Premier League last week.

Currently, United are in 14th spot in the Premier League points table and while there are several stories around the club, uncertainty over Joshua Zirkzee's future at Old Trafford may not be the most important one.

However, the Dutch striker has been completely ignored for Amorim as he has been an unused substitute three times this season whilst playing only five minutes against Brentford last weekend.

The Dutchman survived the summer shuffle and despite that his standing at the club has barely improved despite United's poor showing in attack having scored only seven goals in six league games.

The 24-year-old has never really managed to cement his spot at the club ever since joining from Bologna.

According to reports via The Sun, Zirkzee continues to attract interest from Italy as clubs like Juventus and AC Milan are still keen on him as they aim to increase their attacking options.

Meanwhile another Serie A outfit, Como are allegedly looking to launch a loan move for the Dutch international in the winter transfer window.

Zirkzee has struggled to live up to the expectations at Man United

Zirkzee has only netted seven goals in 53 appearances for Manchester United since moving to Old Trafford for a transfer fee of £36.5m in the summer of 2024.

The 24-year-old has dealt with injuries and struggled for form, hence failing to establish himself at the club.

Despite Rasmus Hojlund's issues and lack of goals, the Danish was preferred over Zirkzee in several crunch games.

A lot has changed this summer with United investing a lot of money in their attack by bringing players like Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbuemo and Matheus Cunha to improve their goal drought from last season.

This has seen, Zirkzee fall down the pecking order and hence Amorim has mostly used him as a backup striker.

Given the current condition around him, a move away to Italy won't be the worst idea for the Dutch youngster as even Hojlund has found form at Napoli.

Zirkzee's heroics at Bologna didn't go unnoticed and therefore a move away from Old Trafford may just bring his career back on track.
