Chelsea were reportedly really interested in signing the attacking midfielder, and Barcelona were looking for a high fee of around 90 million euros to consider selling Lopez this summer.
Barcelona were also ready to sell the player if Lopez was open to the move. Chelsea sent bids that were far from Barcelona's expectations, and a move was never close.
In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, Lopez gave his take on why he decided to stay at FC Barcelona instead of looking for a new opportunity like Chelsea in the Premier League.

Fermin Lopez: "My priority has always been Barcelona. I arrived here when I was 12. It was my dream to be able to reach the first team. It is always a compliment that there is interest from other clubs, but the truth is that I always wanted to stay and succeed at Barça. Barça has always been my priority. I have felt very loved by the culers."
Lopez has already made 90 appearances with the FC Barcelona first-team. He is in his third season with the first team and scored in the league and in the Champions League with Barcelona.
Fermin Lopez has already made two appearances with Barcelona this season. with his most recent one against Rayo Vallecano over the weekend.
In an interview with RTVE, Lamine Yamal also addressed the Fermin Lopez rumors about the Premier League and stated that the player is happy at Barcelona.
