Fermin Lopez could potentially leave FC Barcelona this summer after the Catalan club is desperate to solve their financial regulations issues in La Liga. The club and the player reportedly do not want to part ways, but Chelsea FC is serious about its interest in the player.

Chelsea is looking for an attacking midfielder and has Fermin Lopez on their shortlist. Another player on their shortlist was Xavi Simons, and after many weeks of personal terms agreed with the player, the Dutch midfielder decided to join Tottenham Hotspur instead.

With Simons joining Spurs, Chelsea is expected to go all out for Fermin Lopez. Barcelona is reportedly considering bids of 70 million euros at least.

With the transfer window closing in a few days, Lopez was given 48 hours to decide whether he will stay at Barcelona or be open to joining Chelsea in the Premier League. According to new reports, Lopez will soon make his decision official.

Fermin Lopez Leaning Towards Staying at FC Barcelona

Ferran Martinez from Mundo Deportivo reported that Fermin Lopez wants to stay at FC Barcelona and has doubts about leaving. Fabrizio Romano also has the feeling that Lopez is leaning towards staying instead of leaving.

With Chelsea losing out on a player in Xavi Simons, the English club is expected to continue its pursuit of Lopez.

Ferran Martinez reports that Barça remains firm and would only let Fermin Lopez go if he requests the move and brings an unrefusable offer. Barcelona were reportedly interested in letting Lopez go for a fee of around 90 million euros.

Newcastle United is also interested in Lopez this summer and is rumored to be willing to spend up to 100 million euros for the attacking midfielder.
