The September international break has begun, and club football will return in 10 days. FC Barcelona received bad news in reagrds to Alejandro Balde as the left-back suffered an injury in training.

Balde was not called up for the Spanish national team for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. Balde stayed at Barcelona to train and prepare for the upcoming games, but new reports suggest that Balde will be out for a couple of weeks due to an injury in his left leg.

Helena Condis Edo from COPE reports that Balde is expected to be out for three weeks and that the player suffered a left hamstring injury during a training session.

By the time FC Barcelona is back in action in La Liga and in the Champions League, Balde would have two weeks left of full recovery. Balde is expected to miss the match against Valencia and their Champions League opener against Newcastle United at St. James' Park.

Alejandro Balde's Start to the New Season

Alejandro Balde started in all three matches for FC Barcelona this season but has not played a full 90 minutes. The most amount of minutes Balde played were in the 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano over the weekend.

Balde played 76 minutes in Barcelona's 3-2 win over Levante and played 68 minutes in Barcelona's 3-0 win over Mallorca

Barcelona have finally registered Gerard Martin, who is another option as a left back in the sqaud. Martin is expected to start the next games after the international break.

Martin played his first minutes of the new season after replacing Balde in the match against Rayo Vallecano.
