Canada clinched their semi-final spot against New Zealand this afternoon in Bristol, as they came away with a 46 - 5 victory against Australia.
However, despite the significant disparity on the scoreboard, this was not representative of the Wallaroos performance.
Canada were not there to mess around, with Hogan-Rochester scoring within the first two minutes to establish an early lead for the Maple Leafs.
Australia quickly clapped back with a try of their own, courtesy of Desirée Miller to even the score for an action packed start of the match.
Despite this, the Wallaroos were unable to stop the flood that was Canada as they got five tries past them in the first half.
However, the Wallaroos put on a performance that they can be proud of, with strong defence that caused Canada to really work for their tries.
In fact, although they did not manage to convert it to actual points, the Wallaroos came within metres of the Canadian try line twice, but ultimately the Maple Leafs defence showed no cracks.
The tries were far less common in the second half as Australia upped their defence, but Canada still managed to add 19 points to their lead with three tries, including a late one by Paquin in the 76th minute.
Sophie de Goede was awarded a very well deserved Player of the Match with excellent kicking and a try of her own in the first half.
This means that Canada are now through to the semi-finals next Friday in Bristol, where they will face reigning champions New Zealand.
