Liverpool and Manchester City finished in the top four of the Premier League at the competition's conclusion on Sunday, with Arsenal failing to make the Champions League grade despite a 3-1 win against Everton.
The result means the Gunners have failed to finish in the top four for the first time in 20 seasons.

Chelsea, of course, had already secured their place at the top of the table, though still ran out 5-1 winners over relegated Sunderland.
Tottenham also gave a fine account of themselves on the final day despite already being qualified for the Champions League, putting Hull to the sword in an impressive 7-1 win which saw Harry Kane add to his tally as the league's top scorer for the season.
Sunderland, Hull and Middlesbrough's relegations were also already determined before Matchday 38.

With Chelsea runaway winners, Tottenham guaranteed second place and the three relegated sides already decided, there was precious little space for movement on the final day.
A win for West Ham took them up to 11th, while Leicester City slipped down. Swansea, meanwhile, were galvanised by a 2-1 win to climb to 15th, leaving Watford just above the relegation zone.
WHO QUALIFIED FOR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE?
Going into the final day, only Chelsea, as champions, and runners-up Tottenham were assured of playing in Europe's biggest competition next season. The remaining two spots were still open to three teams, with Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal all fighting for a top-four finish.

A blistering away win for City at Watford saw Pep Guardiola's men claim third place, and the last spot in the Champions League group phase, with ease.
The battle for the play-off round, therefore, was left to the latter two clubs, with Jurgen Klopp's side picking up fourth despite the Gunners recording a 2-1 win over Everton. Manchester United could also yet join the quartet, should they win the Europa League final against Ajax.
WHO QUALIFIED FOR EUROPA LEAGUE?
Due to FA Cup finalists Arsenal and Chelsea already having sealed a place in European competition, Manchester United and Everton played out their final fixtures assured of a Europa League berth.
Arsenal join them in the competition, after missing out on the final Champions League play-off place. The Red Devils and Gunners enter at the group stage, while Everton will play the third qualifying round.
United, however, would give up their Europa League position if they win that competition this season as they would qualify for the Champions League.
The eighth-placed team in the Premier League can't qualify for Europe. However, the highest-ranked team from the first qualifying round will receive a bye to the second qualifying round. That team will be Scottish side Aberdeen.
WHO WAS RELEGATED FROM PREMIER LEAGUE?
The relegation standings were already decided before the final day of the season kicked off.
Hull City went into their last game in 18th position and unable to catch Swansea four points ahead, meaning the Tigers were doomed last weekend to join Middlesbrough and Sunderland in the Championship next season.
Only six points separated Southampton (46) in seventh and Watford (40) in 17th, who finished six points clear of Hull.
WHO'S PROMOTED TO PREMIER LEAGUE?
Both Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion have clinched their place in the top flight for 2017-18, finishing top and second respectively in the Championship standings. The identity of the third newcomer, however, will have to wait to be revealed.
Huddersfield and Reading are the two teams hoping to join the big boys, and will play off at Wembley on Monday May 29 in the final hurdle to promotion.
