NHL free agency has arrived. And it's already proven a hectic period rather hectic period.

Mitch Marner, Aaron Ekblad, Brad Marchand and Brock Boeser lead the list of candidates who could find new homes come the end of the frame.

There's already been a flurry of trades to whet NHL fans' appetite. The NHL Draft saw Noah Dobson, Charlie Coyle, John Gibson, and Petr Mrazek swap jerseys. Who could join them in the transaction carousel? Here's the latest on all things free agency, including signings, trades, rumors, and more.

Sabres, Bowen Byram heading to arbitration

The two sides where unable to agree to a deal in restricted free agency, so they will be going arbitration to settle the difference. However, this does mean that Byram can no longer sign an offer sheet with another team this offseason, so he is off the market.

Blue Jackets sign RFA Dmitri Voronkov to two-year deal

It's a two-year deal worth $4.75 million for Voronkov, who had 23 goals and 47 points last year. Just two years into his career, the 24-year-old is already an important piece to Columbus' rebuild.

Canes land Nikolaj Ehlers

Ehlers was the biggest name left on the market, and he is headed to Carolina on a reported six-year, $8.5 million deal. Ehlers has spent his entire 10-year career with the Jets, producing four seasons with at least 60 points and totaling at least 20 goals in all but two seasons.

Sharks add Dmitry Orlov

The veteran defenseman is going to San Jose on a two-year deal worth $6.5 million per season. The Sharks have been the worst team in the NHL for two-straight years, but here they add a seasoned defender who has played for many Stanley Cup contenders in his career.

Pius Suter signs with Blues

Suter signed a two-year, $8.25 million contract with St. Louis on Wednesday. It will be worth has an $4.125 million per season. The 29-year-old forward had career highs in goals (25) and points (46) in 81 games for the Canucks last season.

Gustav Nyquist signs with Jets

Nyquist signed a one-year, $3.25 million contract with Winnipeg on Wednesday. The 35-year-old forward had 28 points (11 goals, 17 assists) in 79 games for the Predators and Wild last season. He was acquired by Minnesota at the trade deadline.

Jakob Pelletier joins Lightning

After suiting up for the Flames and Flyers last season, Pelletier is signing with the Lightning on a three-year deal worth $3.6 million a year. It will be a a two-way contract for the 2025-26 season before converting to a one-way contract for the remaining two years.

Andrew Mangiapane joins the Oilers

After one season with the Capitals, Mangiapane is signing with the Oilers on a two-year deal worth $3.6 million a year. Mangiapane collected 14 points and 14 assists last year, but he totaled at least 40 points in each of his last three seasons with the Flames, and at least 30 points in each of the last five.

Evgenii Dadonov signs with Devils

After spending the last three seasons with the Stars, Dadonov signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Devils. The veteran winger has a full no-trade clause until March 1, and then has a list of 10 teams he can be dealt to.

Rangers add Taylor Raddysh

Raddysh goes to New York for two years and $1.5 million a season following an 80-games season with the Capitals. The forward had seven goals and 20 assists last year, but is just a few years removed of a 20-goal season with the Blackhawks.

Ryan Lindgren lands in Seattle on four-year contract

Seattle is bringing in veteran defender Ryan Lindgren, who will join the troops on a four-year, $4.5 million AAV contract. Lindgren, 27, tallied 22 points last season. He'll look to shore up the Brandon Montour and Vince Dunn-led defense in the 2025-26 season and beyond.

Ryan McLeod extends stay in Buffalo an extra four years

Center Ryan McLeod was rewarded with a new contract after posting career highs in goals (20), assists (33), points (53), time on ice (16:50) and face-off win percentage (52.3). He inked a four-year contract that will see him collect $5 million AAV.

Connor Brown lands with Devils after agreeing to four-year deal

The Devils scored a coup, locking down Connor Brown on four-year, $3 million AAV deal. Brown, 31, collected 30 points in 82 games with the Oilers last season. He tacked on an additional five goals and four assists in the postseason

Kraken bring in Matt Murray on one-year deal

The Kraken landed another backup in the form of 31-year old Matt Murray, who agreed to a one-year, $1 million contract with the franchise on Tuesday. Murray, a two-time Stanley Cup winner, spent most of last season in the Maple Leafs' farm system. He went 10-5-4 with a 1.72 goals against average and .934 save percentage with the Marlies. 

Lars Ellers inks one-year contract with Senators

Lars Ellers is taking his talent to Canada's capital city in 2025, inking a one-year, $1.25 million contract with the Senators. The Danish center collected 22 points in 80 games with the Penguins and Capitals last season. 

Nico Sturm returns to Wild on two-year deal

The Wild brought a familiar face back into the fore, agreeing to a two-year, $2 million AAV deal with Nico Sturm. The German center hoisted his second Stanley Cup with the Panther, collecting 14 points across the season. He played with the Wild from 2018-2022.

Hurricanes make splash with K'Andre Miller sign-and-trade

The Rangers are parting ways with one of their most notable defenders—K'Andre Miller—to Carolina in exchange for D Scott Morrow and conditional first and second round picks. Miller, who tallied 27 points in 74 games, will immediately ink an eight-year, $60 million deal upon arrival in Carolina.

Sharks acquire Alex Nedeljkovic via trade with Sharks

San Jose found its backup for highly-touted youngster Yaroslav Askarov, landing Alex Nedeljkovic in a trade with the Penguins. The Sharks sent a 2028 third-round back in return for Nedeljkovic, who went 15-5-5 with a 3.12 goals against average and .894 save percentage last season.

Mammoth bring in Vitek Vanecek as backup goalie

The Mammoth got some insurance in the crease, landing Vitek Vanecek with a one-year, $1.5 million deal. Vanecek posted an .884 save percentage and 3.62 goals against average in 24 starts last season with the Sharks and Panthers.

Ducks scoop up Mikael Granlund with three-year deal

One of the most notable names left on the free agency board is no more: Mikael Granlund is signing with Anaheim. The 33-year old secured a three-year deal that sees earn $7 million a season. Granlund posted his fifth 60-point campaign in 2024-25, finding success both in San Jose and Dallas.

Corey Perry lands with Kings

Corey Perry's search for another Stanley Cup will take him to Tinseltown. The 40-year old is joining the King on a one-year, $3.5 million deal. Perry exploded for 10 goals and 14 points in the postseason, falling just short of the Cup for the fifth-straight season.

Alex Lyon signs two-year, $3 million deal with Sabres

Alex Lyon will try his luck in Buffalo's crease—he inked a two-year, $1.5 million AAV deal with the Sabres on Tuesday. Lyon started 26 games for the Flyers last season, going 14-9-1 with a 2.81 goals against average and .896 save percentage.

Tanner Pearson off to Jets

Fresh off of a 27-point season with the Golden Knights, Tanner Pearson is off to pastures new. He landed a one-year, $1 million deal with the Jets on Tuesday.

Jonathan Drouin heads to Islanders on two-year deal

New York secured left winger Jonathan Drouin, agreeing a two-year contract that will see him earn $4 million annually. Drouin, 30, was the No. 3 overall pick in the 2013 NHL Draft. He enjoyed his best season (by per-game metrics) in 2024-25, tallying 37 points (11 goals, 26 assists) in 43 games with the Avalanche. Drouin has four 50-point seasons under this belt.

Radek Faksa returns to Stars on three-year contract

Dallas brought back one of its own, agreeing terms to a three-year deal with former first-round pick Radek Faksa. The Czech forward spent nine seasons with the Stars after being selected No. 13 overall in the 2012 NHL Draft. He tallied 15 points in 70 games with the Blues last year and will make $2 million AAV.

G Anton Forsberg joins Kings on two-year contract

Los Angeles brought in another goaltending option in Anton Forsberg, securing the 32-year old on a two-year, $2.25 million AAV deal. Forsberg posted an 11-12-3 record with a 2.72 goals against average and .901 save percentage with the Senators last season.

Kings continue defensive revamp, bring in Brian Dumoulin

Los Angeles wasn't done making moves following Ceci's arrival. Another coveted defender is off the board, with Brian Dumoulin agreeing terms to a three-year, $4 million AAV deal with the Kings. The two-time Stanley Cup winner enjoyed another solid campaign in 2024-25, netting 22 points across 80 games with the Ducks and Devils.

Kings add Cody Ceci on four-year deal

The Kings attempted to rebuild their defensive rotation following Vladislav Gavrikov's departure, adding Cody Cecil to their ranks on a four-year, $4.5 million AAV deal. Cici tallied 24 points in 85 games with the Sharks and Stars last season.

Predators sign Nick Perbix to two-year contract

The Predators added Nick Perbix to their defensive corps, agreeing to a two-year, $5.5 million deal with the 27 year old. Perbix spent each of the past three seasons with Tampa Bay and recorded 19 points in 74 games last year

Panthers snag Jeff Petry with one-year deal

After losing one veteran defenseman, Florida lands another: Jeff Petry will be joining the Panthers on a one-year, $775,000 deal. The 37-year old played in just 44 games with the Red Wings last season, recording one goal and seven assists. He can receive additional money by hitting certain performance bonuses, per Seravalli.

James van Riemsdyk joins Red Wings

Veteran left winger James van Riemsdyk will add another stop on his checkered career, landing with the Red Wings on a one-year, $1 million deal. The contract features bonuses for the 36-year old, who potted 16 goals and 20 assists in 71 games with the Blue Jackets last season.

Boston re-signs Sean Kuraly, adds Michael Eyssimont on multi-year contracts

Boston reinforced its bottom-six by re-signing center Sean Kuraly to a two-year extension ($1.85 million AAV) and bringing in former Kraken forward Michael Eyssimont, also on a two-year deal ($1.45 million AAV). Kuraly and Eymissont tallied 17 and 16 points respectively last year.

Utah ink Brandon Tanev, Nate Schmidt to three-year deals

The Mammoths added a pair of depth pieces to their roster, agreeing three-year deals with left winger Brandon Tanev ($2.5 million AAV) and defenseman Nate Schmidt ($3.5 million AAV). Tanev, 33, recorded 22 points (10 goals, 12 assists) across 79 games with the Kraken and Jets. Meanwhile, Schmidt, 33, tallied 19 points (five goals, 14 assists) in 80 games with the Panthers. He collected an additional 12 points in 23 appearances in the postseason, playing a vital role as Florida captured its second-straight Stanley Cup.

Flames nearing deal with Russian goaltender Ivan Prosvetov

With Dan Vladar headed to Philadelphia, it seems the Flames have already earmarked a replacement. Calgary is nearing an agreement with Russian netminder Ivan Prosvetov, who spent last year with KHL side CSKA Moscow. The 26-year old posted a .920 save percentage in 38 appearances in the KHL last year. He has 24 games of experience at the NHL level.

Nick Bjugstad joins Blues on two-year deal

The Blues added Nick Bjugstad to their forward corps, landing the 32-year old veteran on a two-year, $1.75 million AAV deal. Bjugstad made 66 appearances for the Mammoth in 2024-25, recording eight goals, 11 assists and 16 penalty minutes.

Canadiens sign Kaapo Kahkonen

Montreal agreed a one-year, $1.15 million deal with Kaapo Kahkonen. The 28-year old Finnish netminder appeared in one NHL game last season, spending most of his season in the AHL. He has a carreer 49-68-15 record with a 3.34 goals against average and .894 save percentage.

Tanner Jeannot headed to Bruins on five-year contract

Boston bolstered its bottom-six, agreeing to a five-year, $3.4 million AAV deal with left winger Tanner Jeannot. The 28-year old scored seven goals and assisted six in 67 games with the Kings last year.

Ryan Lindgren likely to test free agency waters

It seems Ryan Lindgren is likely to hit the open market. According to Frank Seravalli, the 27-year old defenseman had been engaged in conversations with the Avalanche over an extension. But those talks look to have fallen apart. Lindgren is expected to field calls from a host of organizations now. He recorded 22 points across 72 games with the Rangers and Avs in 2024-25.

G Dan Vladar joins Flyers on two-year deal

Philadelphia agreed terms with one of the most notable goaltending options available on the open market, landing Dan Vladar on a two-year, $3.35 million AAV deal, the franchise announced Tuesday. Vladar went 12-11-6 with a 2.80 goals against average and .898 save percentage last season.

Vladislav Gavrikov lands with Rangers on seven-year contract

Vladislav Gavrikov, the top remaining free agent defenseman, inked a seven-year, $49 million deal with the Rangers, per TSN's Pierre LeBrun. The premier left-handed defenseman in this year's free agency class, Gavrikov recorded the second 30-point campaign of his career last season.

Canucks keep Brock Boeser on seven-year deal

The Canucks pulled off a free agency stunner, retaining star goal-scorer Brock Boeser on a seven-year, $7.25 million AAV deal. The winger was expected to part ways with his longtime franchise in the offseason–Vancouver shopped him around during the trade deadline and Boeser told reporters a return to the team was "unlikely" towards the end of the season. Boeser, 28, recorded 25 goal and 25 assists in 75 games last year. He's one year removed from a 40-goal, 73-point campaign.

Sharks lock down William Eklund to three-year extension

San Jose bolstered its young core's future, agreeing a three-year extension with Swedish winger William Eklund. The contract will see Eklund net $5.6 million AAV. The No. 7 pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, Eklund posted career highs in goals (17), assists (41) and points (58) last season.

Christian Dvorak heads to Philadelphia on one-year, $5.4 million deal

After four seasons with the Canadiens, Christian Dvorak found a new home. He'll join the Flyers on a one-year, $5.4 million deal. A consistent 30-point scorer throughout his nine-year career, Dvorak tallied 12 goals and 21 assists in 2024-25.

Parker Kelly inks four-year extension to Avalanche

Colorado locked down fourth-line standout Parker Kelly on a four-year deal worth an AAV of $1.7 million. Kelly, 26, anchored one of the league's best fourth lines. He recorded eight goals and 11 assists in 80 games last season.

Sam Lafferty headed to Blackhawks in trade

Chicago added to its forward depth, landing Sam Lafferty in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick. Lafferty spent parts of the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons with the Blackhawks. He recorded four goals and three assists in 60 games with Buffalo last year.

Canadiens land Zachary Bolduc in trade with Blues

The Canadiens and Blues swapped prospects on Tuesday, with Montreal acquiring right winger Zachary Bolduc in exchange for defenseman Logan Mailloux. Bolduc, 22, tallied 19 goal and 36 points on St. Louis' fourth line last season. Mailloux, meanwhile, enjoyed a strong campaign in Laval, the Canadiens' AHL affiliate and notched four points in seven NHL appearances.

Oilers trade Viktor Arvidsson to Bruins

The Bruins have acquired winger Viktor Arvidsson from the Oilers in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round pick. Arvidsson posted 27 points on 15 goals and 12 assists in his only season in Edmonton, after stints in Los Angeles and Nashville. 

Devils re-sign G Jake Allen

The Devils have agreed to a five-year, $9 million deal to retain veteran goaltender Jake Allen.

Hurricanes extend Logan Stankoven

The Hurricanes have agreed to an eight-year, $48 million contract extension with center Logan Stankoven, who was the centerpiece of their return for Mikko Rantanen at the trade deadline. Stankoven, still only 22, was set to be a restricted free agent next summer.

Flames retain Joel Hanley on two-year deal

The Flames are re-signing defenseman Joel Hanley to a two-year, $3.5 million deal. Hanley posted nine points on two goals and seven assists in his first full season with Calgary, after spending the bulk of his career with the Stars. 

Canucks give Thatcher Demko lucrative extension

The Canucks are signing goaltender Thatcher Demko to a three-year, $25.5 million contract extension, locking him in through the 2028-29 season. Demko will make $8.5 million annually on the deal, which starts in 2026.

Panthers re-sign Tomas Nosek

The Panthers re-signed center Tomas Nosek to a one-year, minimum $775,000 contract ahead of the start of free agency.

Mikael Granlund headed to free agency after no deal with Dallas

33-year-old center Mikael Granlund will leave the Stars and become a free agent today after failing to come to an agreement with Dallas. Granlund, acquired from San Jose in February, had 66 points on 22 goals and 44 assists last season.

Devils making progress on new deal for Jake Allen

The Devils have "made progress" on a deal to bring back G Jake Allen as they look to keep the veteran netminder off the open market. 

Patrick Kane re-signs with Red Wings

Detroit is bringing back Patrick Kane on a one-year, $3 million deal. The 36-year-old is coming off a 59-point season.

Kings re-sign Andrei Kuzmenko

Los Angeles is bringing back Andrei Kuzmenko on a one-year, $4.3 million deal. The 29-year-old posted 37 points last season.

Hurricanes acquire Cayden Primeau from Canadiens

Carolina announced Monday that it had acquired goaltender Cayden Primeau from Montreal in exchange for a 2026 seventh-round pick. Primeau, the son of former Hurricanes captain Keith Primeau, posted a 2-3-1 record, 4.70 goals-against average and .836 save percentage in 11 games in 2024-25. He spent most of his time in the AHL.

Blue Jackets re-sign Ivan Provorov

Provorov is staying in Columbus for seven years and $8.5 million per year. The 28-year-old has been a Blue Jacket for the past two seasons, playing in every game and producing 65 points in that span from the blue-line. The Blue Jackets were able to keep Provorov from reaching the open market by committing long-term.

Brad Marchand remains in Florida on a six-year deal

The 37-year-old was a key part of Florida's title run, and he is back with the Panthers on a six-year deal worth $32 million overall, which is just over $5 million per season. That will mean Marchand is tied to Florida through his age-43 season.

Mitch Marner headed to Vegas in sign-and-trade

Marner and the Golden Knights have agreed to an eight-year deal worth $12 million per year, making Marner a top-5 highest-paid player in the NHL per AAV. However, the Maple Leafs are getting something back, although Toronto's return for Marner has yet to be reported.

Oilers extend Evan Bouchard

Bouchard was set to be a restricted free agency but instead remains in Edmonton on a four-year deal worth $10.5 million per season. That will make him the fourth-highest paid defenseman in the NHL and will give the Oilers three of the top-20 highest-paid players by AAV in the league.

Panthers keep Aaron Ekblad on big deal

The two-time defensing champions keep their top defenseman on an eight-year deal that is reportedly worth around $6.1 million per year. The veteran has been a Panther his entire career and opted to stay in Florida instead of potentially getting more money in free agency. 

Islanders, Alex Romanov discussing big extension

It it gets done, it will be an eight-year extension worth $6.25 million for the 25-year-old Romanov. After two years with the Canadiens, Romanov has spent three seasons in New York, playing in 221 games total and producing at least 20 points in each season.

Maple Leafs get Matias Maccelli from the Mammoth

Maccelli goes from Utah to Toronto for a 2027 3rd-round pick that could become a 2029 second if the Leafs make the playoffs next year and Maccelli collects 51 points. Maccelli is coming off a down season last year, but he produced at least 49 points twice between 2022 and 2024 for his former team and is still just 24 years-old.

Wild trade for Vladimir Tarasenko

Tarasenko is on the move again, this time from the Red Wings to Minnesota for future considerations. It will be Tarasenko's sixth team in the last three years, as he put up just 33 points in 80 games for Detroit last year, while he still has one-year, $4.5 million left on his current contract,

Bruins re-sign three depth players

Boston has agree to deals with Henri Jokiharju, Michael DiPietro and Johnny Beecher for next season. It's a one-year, $3 million deal for Jokiharju, two-year, $812.5K deal for DiPietro and one-year, $900K deal for Beecher.

Predators acquire and extend Nic Hague from the Golden Knights

The full deal is Vegas sending Nic Hague and a third-round pick to Nashville for Colton Sissons and Jeremy Lauzon. As part of the trade, the Predators are signing Hague to a four-year deal worth $5.5 million per year and retaining half of Sissons' $2.875 million salary for next year.

Maple Leafs give Matthew Knies extension

Knies, who was a restricted free agent, is staying in Toronto on a six-year deal worth $7.75 million each season. The 22-year-old took a big step up in his second full season last year, totaling 29 goals and 29 assists in 78 games and establishing himself as a key part of the Maple Leafs' future.

Claude Giroux's staying in Ottawa

Giroux and the Senators have agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $2.75 million for the 2025-26 season. The 37-year-old will be in his fourth season as a Senator next year, and he has missed just one game in the last three seasons combined for Ottawa. Last year Giroux totaled 15 goals and 35 assists for the Senators, which were downturns for his typical career production.

Blue Jackets re-sign Dante Fabbro

It's a four-year, $16.5 million for Fabbro, who was set to hit free agency this week. The defenseman spent six season in Nashville before the Predators traded him to Columbus early last season. Fabbro played in 62 games for Columbus and totaled a career-high 62 points while playing in over 21 minutes per game.

Ducks, Red Wings swap goalies as John Gibson, Petr Mrazek dealt in trade

The Ducks and Red Wings swapped goaltenders on Saturday, with John Gibson joining Detroit and Petr Mrazek heading to Anaheim. Gibson, 31, spent a decade with the Ducks, posting a 204-217-63 record with a .910 save percentage in 506 games. Mrazek, meanwhile, went 12-21-2 with an .891 save percentage and 3.35 goals against average last season. Anaheim will also receive a 2026 fourth-rounder and 2027 second-rounder in return for Gibson. 

Flames lock up Kevin Bahl to six-year extension

The Flames inked 25-year-old defenseman Kevin Bahl to a six-year contract extension. The 6-6 blueliner will receive $32.1 million over the course of his deal. He recorded 20 points in 73 games this year, averaging 21:23 minutes.

Sam Bennett agrees to eight-year extension to stay in Florida

The Panthers locked up Conn Smythe Trophy winner Sam Bennett to an eight-year extension. The 29-year-old will receive $8 million per season, up from $4.425 million from this previous deal. He very well could have netted more on the open market. Bennett tallied 25 goals and 26 assists in regular season. In the playoffs, he upped his production to 11 goals and 12 assists in 21 games.

Islanders deal Noah Dobson to Canadiens for pair of first-round picks

The Canadiens acquired Islanders star defenseman Noah Dobson on Saturday, another signal that Montreal is ending its years-long rebuild. New York acquired 23-year-old winger Emil Heineman and the No. 16 and No. 17 pick in return. Dobson recorded 39 points in 71 games last year. He's one year removed from a 70-point campaign that earned him Norris Trophy votes.

John Tavares agrees to four-year extension with Maple Leafs

Tavares was expected to be one go the most in-demand talents in this year's free agency class. On Friday, he ended his sweepstakes with a whimper. Tavares will stay in Toronto, inking a four-year extension at an AAV of $4.38 million. Tavares produced yet another point-per-game season. Jamie Benn inks one-year, incentive-laden deal to stay in Dallas

Dallas' captain is staying home, extending his tenure with the Stars to a 17th season. Benn, who scored 49 points, will receive a base salary of $1 million. He'll receive $500,000 each if he hits 20, 30, 50 and 60 games played. He can net an additional $500,000 if Dallas wins the Western Conference finals and another $500,000 if the Stars hoist the Stanley Cup. Benn has missed just two games in the past four seasons.

Oilers deal Evander Kane to Canucks in cap-clearing move

The Oilers dealt long-serving winger Evander Kane to the Canucks on Wednesday. The 16-year veteran has one-year left on his contract. He'll make $5.125 million next season, all of which Vancouver will pick up. The Canucks represent the sixth stop of Kane's career. In addition to Edmonton, the 33-year-old has turned out for the Thrashers, Jets, Sabres and Sharks. Kane's departure will offer salary for an Oilers side taking on two hefty new deals: Leon Draisaitl's contract extension kicks in this season, seeing his cap hit rise from $8.5 million to $14 million, while Evan Bouchard will receive a raise on the $3.9 million he earned last year.
