The Golden Knights were able to do what many cannot in Vegas — win.

They went all-in on a roster capable of winning and later walked away with a royal flush. Vegas defended the fortress, united the realm and pulled off something that's never been done before — winning a Stanley Cup in six years after expansion

But just because the cup was hoisted, doesn't mean there isn't more hardware to be awarded.

Here's a look at who won the Conn Smythe in 2023.

Who won the Conn Smythe?

Jonathan Marchessault took home the Conn Smythe in 2023. He is an original Vegas Golden Knight, part of the group of "misfits" that have been vital to the team's success.

Marchessault was undrafted in 2011 and famously ended up in the desert after a stint with the Florida Panthers — who traded him prior to the expansion draft.

The forward became the first undrafted player to win the playoff MVP since Wayne Gretzky did in 1988.

It was a great postseason for No. 81 — recording 25 points, scoring 13 goals and assisting on 12 others in 22 games. He was second amongst all skaters in points.

Marchessault's 13 goals came in the last 15 games, indicating how big he's been for his club as the games only became more important. His work with Jack Eichel and Ivan Barbashev was paramount in Vegas' ability to become champions.
