The Washington Commanders have been hit hard by injuries this season, including at the wide receiver position.

Terry McLaurin is one of the players who has been bitten by the injury bug in 2025. McLaurin suffered a quadriceps injury in Week 3 that forced him to miss four games.

But after he returned in Week 8, McLaurin reaggravated the injury and will now miss a third game in a row after being ruled out for Week 11.

While McLaurin won't suit up against the Miami Dolphins in Madrid, he did show a sign of progress on Wednesday. Here's what we know.

Despite being ruled out for Week 11, McLaurin did make the trip to Madrid with the Commanders and head coach Dan Quinn said on Wednesday that the reason for that has to do with the fact that McLaurin is taking the next step in his rehab.

"Dan Quinn said WR Terry McLaurin is now onto the on-field portion of his rehab. That’s why he’s here," ESPN's John Keim relayed.

This is a clear sign of progress and an indication that McLaurin has a chance to be back sooner rather than later.

The Commanders have a bye in Week 12, so the veteran wideout will have another week to get right without having to miss another game. It's fair to believe that he could be back in Week 13 against the Denver Broncos.

In the meantime, the Commanders will have to rely heavily on Deebo Samuel, Chris Moore and Jaylin Lane.

Treylon Burks would've been another option but he's ruled out for Week 11 after undergoing finger surgery that isn't expected to keep him out long.
