Commanders’ Jayden Daniels gets crucial injury update before Thursday night vs. Packers image

There was no indication of a Jayden Daniels injury.

But on Monday, the Washington Commanders' quarterback popped up on their injury report ahead of a short week and a Thursday Night Football clash with the Green Bay Packers to open up Week 2.

The Commanders didn't actually practice Monday, so it was one of those estimated injury reports that happen on the quick turnaround from Sunday to Thursday.

Daniels was listed with a right wrist injury. His estimated practice participation was full, which is a good sign.

It seems unlikely that the injury would keep him out against Green Bay, but it's something worth watching. An injured throwing wrist would not be at all ideal for a quarterback.

Daniels and the Commanders are coming off a 21-6 Week 1 win over the New York Giants.

The second-year QB was solid if not spectacular. He completed 19-of-30 passes for 233 yards and a touchdown. He also ran 11 times for 68 yards.

It should be a great matchup with the Packers, who dominated the Detroit Lions in all phases of their late afternoon showdown on Sunday.

It'll be the second game for Micah Parsons with Green Bay, and he'll be tasked with making life difficult for Daniels after joining the Packers in a blockbuster trade from the Dallas Cowboys.

The Commanders might want to make extra sure to protect Daniels from Parsons, just in case that wrist is feeling a little bit off.
