The Washington Commanders have lost safety Will Harris for the foreseeable future, so it comes as no surprise that they're taking a look at another safety.
Harris reportedly suffered a broken fibula in the Week 3 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, which puts the rest of his season in doubt.
On Monday, the Commanders will reportedly meet with former Green Bay Packers first-round pick and safety, Darnell Savage, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Fowler adds that Savage could sign with Washington if the meeting goes well.
Savage spent the first five seasons of his career with the Packers before signing a three-year, $21.7 million free-agent deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2024.
After a lackluster first campaign in Jacksonville, Savage failed to earn a starting role out of training camp and was reduced to being the Jags' third safety.
The Jags waived the white flag on Savage last week, when the team unexpectedly released him.
Over 87 career games (82 starts), Savage has 354 tackles, 10 interceptions, 38 passes defensed, one sack and 11 tackles for loss.
Savage has experience playing in the box, in the slot and at free safety.
With it being three games into the season, the Commanders could certainly do worse in a replacement for Harris.
