Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield has already led one fourth quarter comeback drive this season on the road against the Atlanta Falcons. On Monday night, Tampa Bay was trailing 19-14 with 2:04 remaining in regulation.

Mayfield led the team down the field, and it led to the game-winning 2-yard rushing touchdown by Rachaad White with six seconds remaining as Tampa Bay defeated the Houston Texans by a final score of 20-19. With the win for the Buccaneers, they improve to 2-0 and this is the fifth straight season they have reached that mark. In the game, Mayfield completed 65.8% of his passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Fans Claiming Quarterback Baker Mayfield Is MVP

After the win, many Buccaneers fans are once again excited. Mayfield has played well during the first two games of the 2025 NFL season. Tampa Bay fans already believe that he is the MVP through the first two weeks of the NFL season.

There is still a lot of time left in the 2025 NFL season to see who the MVP is going to be. In the first two games of the 2025 season, Mayfield has completed 60.0% of his passes for 382 yards and five touchdowns. He is going to have to get his completion percentage up in order to be considered for MVP.

If Mayfield continues to play well for Tampa Bay, there is no doubt that he is going to be in the conversation for MVP. There is a chance that not only will the Buccaneers win the NFC South division, but there is a chance that this team has the potential to go 13-4 or 14-3 this season. If Tampa Bay does win 13 or more games this season, then Mayfield no doubt is going to be at least a finalist for the MVP award. Buccaneers' fans have a reason to be excited once again this year.
