Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Calijah Kancey is feared to have suffered a season-ending pectoral tear during Monday night's win over the Houston Texans, according to multiple reports.

On Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the 2023 first-round pick sustained the injury in the victory and will undergo further tests to confirm the diagnosis. If confirmed, Kancey will miss the remainder of the season.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz also reported that Kancey is expected to be sidelined, calling the 24-year-old lineman "a huge piece of Tampa's defense."

Minutes later, Schefter reported that tests confirmed Kancey had torn his pec.

Schefter tweeted: "Tests confirmed Bucs DT Calijah Kancey tore his pec, and he now is scheduled to undergo season-ending surgery Friday, per sources."

Kancey, drafted out of Pittsburgh two years ago, has recorded 11.5 sacks in his first two NFL seasons.
