The Seattle Seahawks continued their dominant 2025 campaign on Sunday, blowing out the Atlanta Falcons with a final score of 37-9.
Seattle was impressive across all cylinders, and NFL Offensive Player of the Year candidate Jaxon Smith-Njigba continued his breakout season in the win.
Finishing the win with seven receptions on 10 targets, 92 yards, and two touchdowns. Smith-Njigba has 1,428 receiving yards on the season, which is over 200 yards more than any other player in the NFL.
The 23-year-old made franchise history yet again.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba breaks Seahawks' receiving yards record
Just two weeks ago, Jaxon Smith-Njigba passed up former Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf for the most receiving yards in a single season. This week, the receiver took over another franchise record.
According to Seattle's PR account, Smith-Njigba now has the franchise record for the most receiving yards in a player's first three seasons with 3,182 total yards.
At just 23 years old, Smith-Njigba could arguably be the greatest Seahawks wide receiver in team history.
He still has a chance at breaking the single-season receiving yards record. Currently, the Detroit Lions' Calvin Johnson has the milestone after finishing the 2012 season with 1,964 receiving yards.
It will be worth a shot for the league's top wide receiver in 2025. With four games in the season to go, the Seahawks will have plenty to be playing for. They currently sit as the No. 5 seed and the first Wild Card team in the NFC.
