Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba was added to the injury report on Saturday as questionable for Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints due to an illness.
On Sunday morning, NFL insider Adam Schefter revealed the exact reasons behind Seattle's late addition of Smith-Njigba to the injury report.
Schefter tweeted:
"Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba had what one source described as 'a bug' Saturday that is unlikely to affect his availability today vs. the Saints, but the team wants to see how Smith-Njigba is feeling today just to make sure, which is why it designated him as questionable."
The young wideout has been a key offensive weapon this season, catching 17 passes for 227 yards in the first two games.
His potential absence or limited play could shift the Seahawks' offensive dynamics. This would place more pressure on veteran Cooper Kupp and rookie Tory Horton to step up. Additionally, it could increase the workload for running back Kenneth Walker III throughout the game.
