The San Francisco 49ers are reportedly shopping around for a big move at edge rusher and Cincinnati Bengals star edge rusher Trey Hendrickson is one of them.
This comes from Easton Butler of Packer Report, who notes that the 49ers are trying to land either Hendrickson or New York Jets edge rusher Jermaine Johnson.
Butler adds that the Bengals want a first-round pick for Hendrickson, and reports have suggested the Jets are looking for a second-rounder for Johnson.
"The 49ers are attempting to trade for Trey Hendrickson per source. The rumored asking price is a 1st round pick. 9ers still in play for Jets EDGE Jermaine Johnson," Butler reported.
The Jets have been wheeling and dealing all day long, with the team trading Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts and Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys, so nothing appears to be off the table for New York.
There hasn't been much noise surrounding Hendrickson, although rumors in recent days suggest he's more available than he was in recent weeks, so it appears he could be had.
As of this writing, there is a shade over a half hour to go before the deadline passes, so the Niners are running out of time.
